History:
Founded by seven chemical company employees on July 13, 1962, Chocolate Bayou Credit Union Assets reached the $1 million dollar mark and the membership totaled 1,000 by the end of 1969. by the fall of 1977 credit cards were introduced to the membership. Other companies were gradually allowed to join the credit union, including Conoco and Alvin Community College employees. Today, their assets total $65 million and they have almost 17,000 members.
